Raphael hails from Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. He completed both his undergraduate BSc in Civil Engineering and his MSc in Construction Management (2014) at the University of Dar es Salaam. Over his master’s studies, he developed a fuller understanding of the complex nature of infrastructure projects delivery and the need for achieving collaborative project delivery systems. For his PhD at CUT, he will investigate the development and management of urban infrastructure using a systems analysis approach. The study will contribute towards sustainable urban road infrastructure in the Sub-Saharan Africa. Raphael has been involved in the investigation of Tanzanian procurement and construction industry skills profiles engaged by the World Bank. He enjoys hiking, and playing and watching soccer.
