PROFILE
Coming all the way from the Masvingo province of Zimbabwe, Tariro received her undergraduate Chemical Engineering (Honours) degree from the National University of Science and Technology, Bulawayo, in 2007 and her MEng in Manufacturing Systems and Operations Management from the same university in 2011. Her research interests are centred on her understanding of the need for renewable and sustainable energy sources as well as sound waste management systems. For her PhD at Stellenbosch University (SU), she will investigate the techno-economic feasibility and sustainability of integrated biorefineries. Her research findings will contribute towards the implementation of systems for recovery of valuable bioproducts as well as energy from fruit processing waste.
